Training tour "Technology of confectionery production". Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, September 25 - October 6, 2013

We conducted a customized European study tour focusing on confectionery products technology from September 25 to October 6, 2013 in Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. The representatives of Kazakhstan production companies from the cities of Petropavlovsk, Shymkent, Atyrau, Astana, Almaty, Taraz and Aktobe took part in the study tour.

Within the framework of this study tour the participants visited a number of European enterprises, in particular:

  • A visit of the large Swedish company Bakels Group and its subsidiaries was an important event during the study tour. Swedish AB Aromatic is one of the subsidiaries producing ingridients for the food industry, in particular, for bread making, confectionery and ice cream production. AB Aromatic headquarters are based in Stockholm. The tour participants met with the management of the company, attended the presentation covering the company's products delivered by the lead professionals of AB Aromatic and took part in the hands-on master class focusing on the production of various types of bakery products and pastries using the products of AB Aromatic. The participants visited with great interest some of the operating Swedish bakeries in Stockholm that use the products of b and AB Aromatic.

  • A visit of the famous Swedish company AB NordBakels, a part of the Bakels Group, producing various confectionery mixes and based in the Swedish town of Goteborg. This company held a master class focusing on the production technology for various confectionery products. The tour participants highly appreciated the quality of the mixes and finished products.

  • A visit of the Danish company A/S Wodschow & Co producing mixers under the brand name “Bear Varimixer”in Copenhagen. The group was welcomed by the Company's Director Mr Claus Hedegaart Drøjsbjerg. The managers of the company showed the plant and the equipment manufactured at the plant and discussed the advantages of the equipment.

  • A visit of the Dutch “Masdac” specialized in manifacturing and supplying the full cycle equipment to produce cakes and gateaux (including wafer and sponge cakes)

  • A visit of the famous Dutch company JKV de chocoladevormenspecialist B.V, established in 1947 and currently producing a wide range of chocolate moulds and chocolate making equipment, tempering machines and various packaging for chocolate products. A meeting was held at the company's office with the company's management, a small presentation was provided covering the company's activity and a small chocolate production museum was visited. A master class focusing on production of various chocolate products using the JKV chocolate moulds was conducted on site.

  • A visit of the Dutch company «Zeelandia» turned out to be a vivid event. The management of the company and its Russian partners kindly provided an opportunity for our group to see the plant and to take part in a specialized master class focusing on making various bakery and confectionery products from «Zeelandia» mixes. The participants highly appreciated the quality of products and the wide range of the company's products.

  • A visit of the Belgian company «Hacos NV» manufacturing chocolate making equipment. «Hacos NV» is one of the chocolate making equipment leaders in Europe and is proud to have about 80% of Belgian companies in the chocolate making industry operating their equipment. A master class was held focusing on the production of chocolates on «Hacos NV» equipment.

  • A visit of the Belgian company Bakbel Europe SA, which is a part of Bakels Group. The group participated in a master class devoted to production of several varieties of confectionery products using the truffle paste (caramel, orange, white paste, crocante, hazelnut, chocolate paste), the dry confectionery mix based on activated egg yolk, the coconut biscuit mix and other Bakbel Europe SA products. The master class was delivered by the lead company expert and the confectioner, who showed and explained some of the techniques of confectionery products making.

  • A visit of the Belgian company Puratos n.v., specialized in producing bakery and pastry mixes. The group visited the headquarters of the company, met with the management and had a tour of the plant. A master class was conducted under the aegis of Puratos n.v. Laboratory focusing on making several types of bakery and pastry products using Puratos n.v. mixes.
